Parent Letter

Dear parents,

Hi! My name is Lindsey LaBar and I am one of the three Michigan State University seniors who will be working in your son/daughters classroom for the next year.

First off, I wanted to tell you a little about myself. I am from White Lake, Michigan, which is about an hour east of here. In high school, I spent my time being actively involved in a number of activities including basketball, volleyball, softball, National Honors Society, Leadership, and Student Government. Since attending Michigan State University, I have been accepted into the College of Education and have spent some time in the classroom. I volunteered at two local elementary schools, in addition, I also ran the after school program at St. Martha’s Elementary School. I cannot wait to start working in your son/daughters classroom!

Secondly, I wanted to reassure you that although I will be required to write papers, journal entries and have discussion groups dealing with your son/daughters classroom, I will not use any names, or any other descriptions that people could be used to identify students.

Thirdly, I wanted to welcome you to contact me through email if you have any questions at all for me. My email is labarlin@msu.edu and I look forward to working with you, and your son/daughter throughout the school year. Thank you for taking your time and energy to read this.
